Welcome to our site I2P protocol users.

In a similar vein to Tor; I2P (Invisible Internet Project) is another style of encrypted network designed to communicate between machines in a private and anonymous way. It was originally brought to our attention via the many sites within the webring folders that as many of them are running their webpage on raspberry pi's they too are also running their site with Tor and I2P protocols enabled. It was high time we got our shit together and did it too!

Corsair and ASUS is bad at software.

We at S-Config.com and Corsair will never see eye to eye. And ASUS too!

We will see eye to eye on almost nothing! Corsair refuses to address any problems they've had. And has in fact doubled down on their horse shit!

When we first decided to retire our classic Microsoft Intellimouse (shout out to Logitech actually)that we used (and have beaten) LAN games as well as single-player games throughout the years. We decided to update our rig with a decent mechanical keyboard and mouse. Well, with our hatred for Razer destroying Ouya as well as repairing a lot of my friends Razer based hardware that company was an obvious no-go for me. We thought buying Corsair would be a good alternative.

TLDR version: We were wrong! Buy RedDragon instead. At least all of RedDragons keyboards and mice operate perfectly fine without shit bloatware! Depending on the model of RedDragon you can repair it! But for better or worse, we purchased Corsair, we're going to make the best of it by replacing the software with something else!

AVIF animation vs. FireFox.

Quick blog article about the subject of animated images.

When designing my web-ring integration in the cellar door. We noticed something when our cron.job went to work by converting old standards of jpg png and gifs into newer standards. Simply put it stopped firefox from processing animations.

The short story is, that Firefox is aware of it. Here's the bug report. 2 years since the report. Not much progress. Read on if you want to know more.

Wait, there's more than Google?

Yes, there's Bing. Just saved you from going to a large tech site and thumbing through 5-10 pages of ad-sponsor hell while they divide up the list to 10 pages in a desperate attempt to improve clicks. You're welcome.

Seriously; We can't tell you how many times we've seen the article "Top 10 Search Engines" from countless bloggers only to find out that if you are in an English-speaking country. You pretty much have different flavors of Google dominating %80 of the market (Duckduckgo, Presearch, SearX, AskJeeves, and the list goes on where they mindlessly accept either a Google or Microsoft aggregate instead of doing the hard work themselves.) Beyond that, there is Microsoft Bing with their %8 and finally, Yahoo is still hanging in there with their %2 of total internet searches. Where do these percentiles come from? Like other bloggers, we pulled those percentiles out of thin air!

But it sure as hell feels that way!

Using SVG's within your website.

To some that have been reading for a while now you may be thinking that I'm going to introduce something new or revolutionary that will change the landscape of website design. When the truth is. This is actually an old standard that's been around but should have been implemented a long time ago. It's just for security reasons WordPress blocks this format by default.

So, we're going to unblock it on our site and use it. To those who have visited my front page and/or art section chances are a vector has been uploaded and presented to you on your browser like the icon on the right.

Imitation “Dark Web” Sites.

Not when they copy your every word and throw child porn banner ads all over it. That's just being a dick!

From here on out we're just going to refer to the (OOOooooOOOO! Hollywood Spooky Darkweb) and instead use its technical term of the "Tor/Onion" network because that's predominantly where the cloning is happening.

Sleeper PC update time.

Two years ago we published our Sleeper PC build. No, we have not moved on to flashy lights or AIO liquid cooling. Perhaps we're old or stuck in our ways. However, it is one of those questions that is asked on chat servers, and social networks and is also the content of videos with everyone having their own unique PC build. It's one thing to buy a Gateway, Dell, Packard Bell, or Wang. It's something else to pop open and put high-performance hardware inside of it.

LBRY and Odysee – A video hosting review.

Wooo-boy here goes S reviewing another web3/crypto service!

You are absolutely right in the respect that we are reviewing a little site known as Odysee.com. A site that wants a piece of that sweet YouTube traffic out there but also has its own blockchain services powering it. We've been very critical about Web 3.0 services in the past such as PreSearch and now we really want Odysee to prove us wrong. After all, for those readers who come to my site, I've published article, after article, after article of YouTubes atrocities, and there came a point in our blogging career that frankly, we were sick of doing it because a blog is supposed to help you the reader. It's supposed to offer an alternative to the wrongs that exist on the internet.

Is Odysee that solution? Is it here to save us from tyranny and censorship? Is Odysee also going to release us from the borderline Stockholm syndrome caused by YouTubes' actions and decisions?

Short answer?

Web 3.0

What is "Web 3.0"

Sometimes it's also referred to as "Web3." This subject was actually hard to really pin down. As we are living in the screaming '20s where the world is fast-tracking itself for CostCo levels of stupid it's impossible to really find a pure example of Web 3.0. So, the quick and dirty answer to how we feel about Web 3.0?

We've come to the conclusion that Web3 or Web 3.0 is pretty much unproven marketing hype and vaporware made up my crypto-bros that want to put a price tag on the internet.

Clarification time!

It's time to shed some light and clarification on some of the things we do here.

Lately, we've gotten some feedback that people are getting our message and wanting to start a website which is excellent. The more people that start their own website means less centralization underneath the banner of a major conglomerate. Especially to those who choose a local or small web provider that gives you superior service versus the complete ambivalence of sites such as GoDaddy. Now for those who are interested in how we got into the blogging business, we have an article talking about how trials and tribulations from a shared hosting provider that only gave us 25MB of web space to the present time. We even have another article talking about how to start a blog right. This article mostly discusses the time frame and research it took to get where we are today.
